VOLUNTEER POSITIONS DESCRIPTIONS

LANE TIMERS

You will be in a pair at an assigned lane, each timer starts a stopwatch at the 'designated starting sound' of each heat of each event and stops the watch when the swimmer touches at the finish.  One will also operate a backup stop button that is connected to the timing board, this is pressed at the conclusion of the race along with the stopwatch.  One of the pair records the two ending times on the swimmers 'Event Card.'  A head timer will provide specific instructions at the beginning of the meet to the group of timers.  Timers will need to be at the meet approximently 20 minutes before the meet starts.  We will need 12 timers per meet.

HEAD TIMERS

You will be given two stopwatches each to start at the beginning of each heat.  You will be located at the side of the pool so you can see each of the lane timers. If one of the timer raises their hand signaling a failure of their stop watch, you will go to them and exchange your with theirs.  Once each race is completed, reset your stopwatches for the next race.

CONCESSIONS FOR MBHS ATHLETIC EVENTS

Each Booster Club at MBHS is given the opportunity to operate the concession stand at various MBHS athletic events.  At concession stands at MBHS, it is required to have at least 2-3 volunteers with Food Handler Certification.  These volunteers will handle the 'open' food like hot dogs and nachos.  If the concession stand is at Ron Poe Stadium, everyone who volunteers must have a Food Handler Certification.  Certification is good for two years and MISD offers the class once a mouth.
